4Avant Architects provided all A/E services for an approximately 40,000 SF 2- story addition and renovation to the company’s existing corporate headquarters in Norfolk, Nebraska. Avant Architects also headed the design team in the expansion of the existing 57,000 SF warehouse into a 280,000 SF production space. The design in structural steel, metal panels, and poured concrete reflects the steel- industry nature of their business.

Avant’s services included programming and space planning, site design, building design, interior design, systems furniture, and construction administration.
Programming efforts included developing a detailed Space Program through interviews with all department Managerial Staff, President and CEO to define needs for Offices, Conferencing, Work Areas, and Public Spaces. The diagram was also used to define the impact of construction for the Owner to be able to adequately maintain operations and performance during construction. Avant developed a site plan that separated office vehicular traffic from the service center activities. Similar points of access were arranged for office, visitor, and service center plant personnel to increase the efficiency of the site.
The use of industrial, raw materials on the exterior of the building. blended with vibrant color in key areas provides a building envelope that highlights the Owner’s industry and their dynamic approach to business. Attention to detail on the interior spaces create an exceptional work environment. Light and Airy work spaces, with integrated technology and design attention that included all items through office furniture systems. Materials are blended between traditional corporate and raw industrial to create an environment that reflects the culture and operations of the facility.
