Nebraska Crossing Outlets is the region’s premier outlet center providing retail space for more than 70 luxury retailers. The center was designed to provide an excellent shopping experience by arranging 9 multi-tenant buildings and 2 kiosk buildings to create pedestrian plazas.  The open air mall features integrated landscape beds and canopies spaced at intervals to shade and protect.  The facades of the buildings have been tailored to provide each tenant a unique storefront.

  • Project Location:  Gretna, Nebraska
  • Project Size:  333,000 SF retail space;  36 acre mall property
  • Project Cost:  $45.3 million
  • Project Completed:  November 2013

The buildings were designed using a simple material palette of metal panel, burnished concrete block, phenolic siding panels, and aluminum framed storefront.  The materials were varied in orientation, color, and pattern scale to create interest and delineate tenant spaces.  Avant’s team provided full design services for the outlet mall including site and master planning, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.  The project included demolition of the existing, defunct, outlet mall, the upgrade of all utility services, site design including roads, parking lots, and pedestrian walkways, as well as the design of the retail buildings.  The mall also includes a high-tech retail experience for which Avant’s team coordinated the design and installation of large digital highway signs, digital rooftop billboards, and many digital display boards and kiosks throughout the center.
